Synthmaster
Access Virus'la ilgili music.dsp listesinde az once ilginc bir mektup okudum buraya aynen aktariyorum:
Cok yerinde bir saptama
Dave Peck from music.dsp' Alıntı:Last night, a gearhead friend of mine introduced me to the Access Virus
TI.
This is a typical "Analog modeling" hardware synth but with a twist:
connect
it via USB to your computer and it also acts as a VST plugin. MIDI is
shipped out to the hardware; audio bits are shipped in. This type of
integration is no doubt very useful.
The Access literature claims that the hardware contains two identical
"dedicated Virus DSP chips." How powerful are these chips, really? My
hunch
is that the Virus "engine" -- properly rewritten, of course -- could
hum
along without taxing (say) a 3GhZ P4.
So: Is the dedicated hardware necessary to get that 'thick Virus sound'
or
is this a clever business model to allow them to charge $1900 (street)
for a
product that, software-only, wouldn't sell for more than $100?
Cok yerinde bir saptama
